How Did it Go?

With the semester and school year coming to an end, that also means that my co-op placement is coming to an end as well. I've enjoyed my time and I've taken a lot from this experience, as well as learned about the possibility of becoming a teacher later in life.

My experience with this co-op has been nothing but positive and It's somewhat bitter sweet leaving the school. My boys that I teach in the morning are such a funny group and I love the fact that they try so hard in gym class. No matter what the sport, even if they didn't like it, they gave it their all and it made it a privilege to teach them. They showed a great sense of camaraderie with each other and there was never any negative energy in the gym class. We always made an effort to divide the sporty kids from the kids who never played sports before. This was important because the sporty kids become less motivated when playing with people below their physical capacity. Also, the kids who never played sports felt much more comfortable in a gym setting when playing with people of their own capacity.

My second period gym class or fitness class we're great but they we're not as social as my first bunch. It was still great to teach them and join in on their classes and I would totally do it again if I got the chance. For the last part of the day, I sat in on an environmental science class and a biology class. These classes were nowhere near as interactive for me, but the teacher I was with was one of my favorite teachers from high school and he is an amazing teacher and makes even boring subjects interesting. I definitely picked up on some great new ways to deliver information and also different tonalities in which I can deliver information to keep people interested.

Overall, It was a great experience and I'm glad I came back to the place where my journey really began.
